Usually requires surgery if the tumor is confirmed to one lobe-HEPATIC RESECTION (HEPATECTOMY) .However in advance growth without secondaries LIVER TRANSPLANT may be considered. In advance disease ,other treatments like CRYOTHERAPY, CHEMOEMBOLIZATION (TACE),ETHANOL INJECTIONS may be tried.
In patients with advanced liver disease ,LIVER TRANSPLANT is the only option available and the patients liver is removed and a part of the liver taken from the donor is implanted into the patients. The liver usually regenerates to its whole size approximately in 3 months. With newer advances the results with liver transplantation is good.
